If you’re tuned into my private Facebook feed, you’ll notice I’ve started posting links to YouTube instead of my regular fare of status updates. Why?
Well, what with my HD camera, tons of free time, and paying through the nose for Adobe Creative Cloud, you didn’t expect me to post Instagram photos, did you?
I HAD a YouTube channel, called ValentinaVideos, but for some reason it didn’t allow me to do several features, such as posting custom thumbnails and monetizing views (I think I’ve earned $.0005 by now on my new channel – exciting!).
I contacted YouTube about the problem and got directed to perhaps their lowliest Intern named Fitzgerald. The conversation went sort of like this:
Me: Hello. I cannot monetize my account for some reason. Please help.
Fitz: Thank you for contacting the YouTube team. Please give us the URL of the video in question.
Me: Um…it’s the entire account. I don’t have any public videos on it yet. But I’d like to.
Fitz: Please give us the URL of the video in question.
That’s okay, though! I noticed that nobody nabbed the youtube.com/valentinavee URL, so I got ALL UP IN THAT BIZNITCH and snatched it.
So, to those real-life friends who are bugged by my videos: go ahead and block me. These videos are the Wilson to my Tom Hanks. YOU try living alone without any poor soul to hang your troubles on and see how YOU like it.
Here are my first two videos, in case you are my parents and care to watch:

One of my other favorite YouTube channels, TwoBrokeGeeks, JUST made a video about this, conveniently:
